Description
The SEETRONIC MP3X is a precision-engineered 1/4″ (6.3mm) audio plug designed for professional cable assembly applications. Featuring a slim, space-saving profile, the MP3X allows for higher packing density without compromising durability or performance. Its die-cast zinc alloy housing delivers robust mechanical strength, while the chuck-style cable clamp ensures secure, long-lasting strain relief. With a polished chrome finish and ergonomic knurled grip, the MP3X combines rugged reliability with a refined, professional appearance — making it an ideal choice for audio, instrument, and signal cable manufacturers.
Key Features
- Slim Profile Design: Particularly slender 1/4″ plug body enables the highest packaging density for efficient storage and shipping.
- Die-Cast Housing: Strong zinc die-cast shell construction with a novel design for enhanced durability.
- Reliable Cable Retention: Chuck-style cable clamp/jacket secures the cable firmly, preventing pull-out and wear over time.
- Polished Finish: Chrome-plated, polished exterior provides a premium look and smooth, convenient handling.
- Wide Cable Compatibility: Accommodates cable outer diameters from 4mm to 7mm, with a breakaway clamp tail for flexible fit.
Material and Environmental Specifications
- Housing Material: Zinc die-cast for structural strength and durability.

- Connector Standards: Certified to IEC 60603-11 / EIA RS-453.
Packaging and Accessories
- Individual Packaging: 1 piece per bag, including 1 inner core assembly, 1 shell, 1 cable clamp, and 1 tail sleeve.
- Bulk Packaging: 100 pieces per box, 5 boxes per carton (500 pieces per carton).
- Accessories: Supplied with no additional accessories (back fastener plate, screws, and nuts not included).
Assembly Instructions
- Thread the Cable: Pass the cable through the tail sleeve/bushing before termination.
- Strip the Cable: Strip the cable to the specified dimensions (16mm/8mm/4mm) to expose the shielding layer and signal wires.
- Solder the Connections: Solder the cable’s conductor wires to the inner core assembly terminals.
- Secure with Clip: Snap the cable into the cable clip for strain relief.
- Assemble the Housing: Push the inner core assembly into the housing, aligning the convex bar on the core with the housing’s convex bar.
- Tighten the Tail Sleeve: Rotate the tail sleeve clockwise to fully secure the cable clamp, core, and housing assembly.
- Cable Diameter Note: For cables 4-5.5mm in diameter, leave the clamp tail intact; for cables 5.5-7mm in diameter, break off part of the clamp tail as indicated in the assembly diagram.
