Description
The ST352 is a precision metal plug connector from Seetronic, designed for reliable, repeatable connections in demanding environments. Its rugged zinc diecast shell and knurled grip provide a durable, easy-to-handle housing, while brass contacts ensure consistent, low-resistance performance over more than 1,000 mating cycles.
Key Features
- Compact Precision Housing: Ø12.00±0.20mm diameter and 46.50±0.30mm overall length in a zinc diecast metal shell for a slim, rugged profile.
- High Mating Cycle Durability: Rated for over 1,000 mating cycles, supporting frequent connect/disconnect use without performance loss.
- Strong Dielectric Performance: Withstands 1500V DC dielectric strength testing with insulation resistance greater than 5GΩ, ensuring safe electrical isolation.
- Flexible Cable Compatibility: Accommodates 16AWG signal wire and cable outer diameters from 3.5mm to 6.5mm for broad application coverage.
- Knurled Grip Design: Textured cable-entry section improves handling and grip during installation and removal.
Material and Environmental Specifications
- Shell Material: Zinc diecast construction for mechanical strength and durability.
- Contact Plating: Tin (Sn) surface finish for corrosion resistance and stable conductivity.
- Flame Retardant Rating: UL94-HB rated for baseline flame-retardant performance.
- Operating Temperature Range: -30°C to +80°C, suitable for a wide range of climates and indoor industrial conditions.
- Ingress Protection: IP40 rated, protecting against solid objects larger than 1mm; not designed for water exposure.
- Electroplating Standard: Manufactured to IEC 68-2-20 electroplating compliance standards.
Packaging and Accessories
- Standard Unit Packaging: Individual plugs are packed to prevent scratching of the shell finish and contact damage during transit (please confirm exact carton/tray specifications with your sales contact, as these are configured per order).
- Custom Branding Available: The connector body accommodates the Seetronic logo mark as shown; OEM/custom branding options may be available on request.
- Order-Specific Configuration: Cable length, connector color, and accessory bundling (e.g., matching sockets) can be configured to customer specification — please contact Seetronic for a tailored quotation.
Assembly Instructions
- Prepare the Cable: Strip the cable jacket and prepare the 16AWG signal conductor(s), ensuring the cable outer diameter falls within the 3.5-6.5mm compatible range.
- Insert Through the Shell: Feed the prepared cable through the rear shell and cable clamp section of the connector body before terminating the conductors.
- Terminate the Contacts: Connect the signal wire to the internal brass contact pin per the wiring configuration required for your application.
- Seat the Contact Assembly: Insert the terminated contact assembly into the connector housing until fully seated and secure.
- Secure the Cable Clamp: Tighten the rear cable clamp/coupling nut to secure the cable in place and provide strain relief.
- Final Inspection: Verify the assembled plug is fully seated, that the knurled grip section is properly aligned, and that the connector mates smoothly with its corresponding socket.
