Description
The MF2D is a rugged, all-metal panel mount jack engineered for reliable, long-term performance in demanding electrical and industrial applications. Built on a standard D-shaped chassis footprint, the MF2D features a zinc die-cast (ZnAl4Cu1) housing finished in pearl chrome for excellent durability and a premium appearance. Its gold-plated copper alloy contacts ensure stable, low-resistance connections, while the compact 26 x 31 mm footprint with a 22.50 mm mounting diameter allows it to fit standard D-mount panel cutouts. Rated for use from -30°C to +80°C and tested for more than 2,000 mating cycles, the MF2D is a dependable connector solution for equipment that requires both mechanical strength and consistent electrical performance.
Key Features
- All-Metal Housing: Zinc die-cast construction with pearl chrome plating provides maximum mechanical protection and corrosion resistance.
- Gold-Plated Contacts: Copper alloy contacts with gold plating deliver low contact resistance (≤10mΩ) and stable signal transfer.
- Standard D-Mount Design: Conforms to standard D mounting dimensions for easy integration with existing panel layouts and mating connectors.
- Low Signal Loss: Capacitance between contacts of ≤9pF and dielectric strength of 0.5KV DC support clean, low-interference performance.
- Flexible Mounting: Compatible with both front and rear panel mounting configurations for installation flexibility.
Material and Environmental Specifications
- Contact Plating: Gold (Au) plating on contacts for reliable, corrosion-resistant conductivity.
- Contact Material: Copper alloy base material for good conductivity and mechanical strength.
- Shell Material: Zinc die-cast alloy (ZnAl4Cu1) for a rigid, impact-resistant housing.
- Rated Voltage: Rated for use under 50V.
- Rated Current: Determined by the mating connector used with the MF2D.
Packaging and Accessories
- Mounting Hardware Compatibility: Panel mounting holes (Ø3.30 mm / Ø3.40 mm) are sized for standard M3 series mounting screws, making hardware sourcing simple.
- Individual Unit Packaging: Recommended to be packed individually or in trays to prevent surface damage to the plated housing and contacts during shipping and handling.
- Note: Please confirm exact packaging quantities, tray/reel format, and included accessories with the manufacturer, as these are configured per order and not specified on the datasheet.
Assembly Instructions
- Panel Mount Orientation: The MF2D supports both front-panel and rear-panel mounting, offering flexibility depending on enclosure design.
- Panel Cutout Preparation: Prepare a circular panel cutout of Ø22.50 mm with mounting holes spaced per the 19.00 mm x 24.00 mm hole pattern shown in the product drawing.
- Depth Clearance: Allow for the connector’s overall depth of approximately 23.00 mm (plus a 5.10 mm rear projection) behind the panel when planning enclosure clearance.
- Mating Connector Compatibility: Confirm the mating connector matches the D-shaped chassis and contact configuration to ensure a proper, secure fit before final assembly.
